Chemainus resident Wanda Smith has long been so appreciative of the incredible health care professionals who saved her life, she just had to do something. Thus, she created a fundraiser in support of the Intensive Care Unit at the Cowichan District Hospital, with the goal of raising $25,000 by the time the hospital opens in the fall of 2026.
